liquid recruitment – Web Programmer
An exciting role has become available here at liquid for an experienced Web Programmer to join the team.
In your role you will help us to exceed client expectations through excellent web design and development. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and experience in developing web solutions of varying size and complexity.
The candidate will have both web development and design skills including:
Designer skills (Essential)
- Proficient with XHTML 1.1 and XML 1.0.
- Proficient with CSS 2.1
- Proficient with W3C Specifications and Accessibility Standards
- Cross browser development – must have knowledge of IE6 and IE7 issues and general browser rendering differences
- Must be competent with Javascript and familiar with associated libraries: Jquery, Mootools, Prototype; must be familiar with principles of AJAX
- Basic graphic design experience – knowledge of Photoshop and differences in image file types.
General skills (Essential)
- Familiarity with the following applications: Visual Studio (2005 or later), Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and Firebug
- Familiarity with web-design techniques/principles: how to build secure web forms against XSS attacks, SQL injection and spiders, how to trace bugs, and principles of progressive enhancement.
Developer skills (Highly Desirable)
- At least some proficiency with C#.NET 2.0 or VB.NET 2.0 (preferably C#)
- Some knowledge of Object Orientated Programming principles – classes, inheritance, polymorphism, etc
- Transact-SQL: must be able to construct/manipulate databases, tables, stored procedures in SQL Server 2000 or 2005 with minimal guidance
- Some general IT experience required: knowledge of IIS settings, FTP server hosting and general web hosting and bandwidth issues.
- Knowledge of principles of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): keywords, indexing, meta tags, and 301 redirects.

Although not essential, the successful candidate will ideally also have experience of the following:
