Liquid is walking like an Egyptian

Liverpool design agency Liquid has won a three-way pitch to provide creative support to the “Beasts of the Nile” exhibition.

The exhibition features a collection of objects from Bolton Museum, Warrington Museum and the British Museum, and explores eight different aspects of ancient Egyptian animal life.

The “Beasts of the Nile” exhibition will open at Bolton Museum from 10 July to 4 September before it embarks on a two-year tour of the North West where it will stop at Salford, Chester, Warrington, Rochdale, Preston and Lancaster.

Liquid has designed a series of innovative posters, leaflets, promotional flyers and invitations to support the promotion and advertisement of the various aspects of the exhibition.

The exhibition will show visitors how important animals were to the lives of the Ancient Egyptians and feature an amazing array of objects including mummies, bronzes, textiles, pottery and wooden sculptures.

Liquid’s Creative Director, Steve McGauley, said: “This was a really exciting pitch to win and will help establish our credentials with the public sector in the North West.

“The project has been very exciting and challenging and we have thoroughly enjoyed the contrast of utilising 21st century design techniques to promote such an historic topic!” he added.

Sarah Teale, Bolton Museum’s Exhibition Officer said, “Liquid presented some really exciting creative ideas in their proposal. They understood the brief thoroughly and captured the essence of the exhibition – that is why we chose them.

“We were keen to be innovative, without spoiling the integrity of the exhibition. Liquid helped to create the profile we were looking for and their work will help to make this thrilling exhibition a success,” Sarah added.
