Liquid move north and aim to boost Liverpool's image

Liverpool's emerging creative industries has been boosted by the arrival from London of leading edge creative design agency Liquid Solution following the company's relocation to the European Capital of Culture 2008.

Liquid's decision to leave the capital and move to Merseyside underlines the growing business confidence in the region and strengthens Liverpool's mounting reputation as a hub of creative and cultural talent.

The company, which employs four staff currently and is headed by Directors Steve McGauley and Chris Mitchell, has ambitious expansion plans and is already in the process of recruiting two additional designers, with more new jobs expected in the New Year.

"Three years after merging our respective businesses in London, Chris and I felt the time was right to escape the rat race of the capital," explained Director Steve McGauley.

"Chris is originally from the Wirral and was always telling me how exciting and vibrant a city Liverpool was and how great a place it would be to live and work, so we agreed to investigate it further."

"The help and encouragement we received was second to none and shortly after we had made the decision to relocate, Liverpool was awarded the European Capital of Culture for 2008, which really was the icing on the cake for us," added Steve.

The timing of the move to Liverpool reflects the forward thinking approach to its design services that Liquid has adopted to it own business development.

"Any lingering doubts about whether we had made the right move or not were quickly dispelled!" said Steve.

"This is an incredibly exciting time to be developing our business in the North West and the opportunity for us to play our part in boosting Liverpool's image is one that both Chris and I relish," he concluded.
