Secret Santa

Every Christmas, liquid has its quaint festive traditions: we will do Secret Santa, Gary will wear his Christmas cardigan and hand out the presents, Lindsey will dance like a maniac at the Christmas party and Ian will still be carrying on the party into the early hours.

This year’s Secret Santa, like last year, straddled the line between inane Christmas tat and strokes of genius. I’ll let you make up your own mind about which category these presents sit in. It certainly says a lot about the personalities of the people who received the gifts:

Gary received a CD called ‘Happy ‘Clucking’ Holidays!! – Chicken Hits’ with famous Christmas songs such as Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls having their lyrics replaced with simply the noise ‘Buk’ repeated ad nauseum.

Alison received an inflatable Hello Kitty which now stands proudly on her desk as her mascot.

Ian got a Guinea Pig Sports Calendar because some members of the liquid team believe he bears more than a passing resemblance to the friendly rodents.

Other gifts included Christmas obsessed Karen getting a lollipop Christmas tree, Katy receiving Luna Lovegood (from Harry Potter) glasses (don’t ask her why) and Lorna getting a ‘Doodle while you work’ sketch book to keep the creative juices flowing.

We could go on. But we won’t.
